Prophecy Came Too Soon

She cheated her way into Magical Academy Spells School, but it turns out that wasn't a good idea. They kill you if you do that.

And so she is, for lack of a better word, Fucked.

That is, until a strange Dry Dog comes along and offers her magical powers.
Sadly, the powers are of the Magical Girl variety, and she isn't a girl, so she must decline.

She has given up, is fully resigned to her fate.

But then she starts thinking and she realizes something.

"I need to find that stupid fucking dry dog."

Origins

She was born for a stupid idea i had. Just a one off stupid idea.

I had that idea on Sunday, Febuary 8th, 2026

And it would not leave my head for some reason.
I kept thinking about it, having new ideas on how to expand it.
And i had to make it real

So now I'm making a show about this little freak. She's gonna be put through the wringer. So much will be projected unto her.
But she's alive.
And that's all that matters

She means a lot to me now.

Allegory & Direct

Subtext is for cowards.
Juniper is transgender directly in the text.
The magical girl thing is also a transgender allegory.
The subtext is the text and the text is the subtext.

Does this make sense? I hope it does.

If not...
Juniper is effecitvely suicidal up until she has the realization that she's a girl.
She learns that she is going to die as soon as she's caught having cheated, which WILL happen, and is inevitable.
And she is offered a way out, an easy solution to keep living. But she rejects it. It isn't meant for her, she isn't allowed to feel that way.
She isn't a girl.

But that isn't true. And things stick in her mind. And she realizes that she can be if she wants to.
She has a new lease on life through resolving to be a girl.
And now she has to go back and become a magical girl, again, getting a new lease on life through becoming a girl.
Its the same thing both times, just with one being slightly less direct.

The allegory and the direct meaning merge and blur together in this.
Because subtext is for cowards.
I will say it out loud.

Skills and Powers

She can NOT do magic

That's why she had to cheat her way into a magic school.
She went there to learn theory, spellcraft and invention, potions, runes, etc.
And she really is good at that.

Its just...
Being unable to do ANY magic is really detrimental.
Even in magical girl form she is barely able to do the smallest of blasts.
She can't even maintain a real transformation!
Just look at her shadow. Its clear what you really are.

She hides her shadow. It takes effort, strange setups of magic to specifically target it, but she hides her shadow.
She runs from the truth.
Because it isn't true.
